The Longshot Radio widget v2 is a
custom designed web music player.
The music player is programmed to
collect the “streams” and play them
automatically when it opens on your
blog or web page (simple html code
with no tracking, cookies or hyper-
links to advertising or web sites).
The music player loads, auto-starts
(unless it’s installed on a selectable
pop-up layer) and continues to play
for over 20 hours (so far...) without
repeating any of the streams like a
commercial-free radio broadcast.
SIMPLE TO INSTALL
That’s it! You simply copy and paste a version of the widget code and the player appears when you open the page.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED INSTALLATION METHOD using the I-frame code (player was designed for this method)
The widget works best as a “selectable” feature if you can install the I-frame or Placeholder code version on a
pop-up layer or new window initiated by a text prompt or icon on your main page (as opposed to having the radio
player appear, initiate and play immediately when visitors access your page). It’s like an “ON” switch so the player
only appears, initiates and plays when the text prompt link or icon link is selected (sample link icons below).
The Longshot Radio widget also
shuffles the programmed streams
every time it opens so you always
get a fresh compilation of songs.
The playlist evolves and expands.
As we discover streams, we add
new songs and change songs by
current artists - updated monthly.
There’s always an interesting mix
featuring new bands and classics.
The player loads and displays the
first six streaming artists making it
very unlikely that you’ll ever see a
repeat (or similar) opening playlist.
IMPROVED PROFESSIONAL OPERATING FEATURES IN VERSION 2 - (now broadcasting at high bandwidth)
1. Even though the player displays only 6 songs at-a-time from the massive playlist, users can scroll down through
the entire available playlist and play any song, anytime by clicking on it. Playlist songs highlight upon mouse-over.
2. The text message box displays the current “playing” track by band and song name. The message automatically
scrolls for longer titles as required.
3. The player continues to play the next track if left unattended. If the player plays the entire current playlist from
the first track, the music continues for over 20 hours without ever repeating a track. The total overall playtime may
increase or decrease from time to time as we alter the playlist streams.
4. Player controls conveniently identify with pop-up bubble name panels upon mouse-over and include:
a) Buttons to select Previous / Next track
b) Buttons to select Stop player or Pause / Play a track (”on” or play mode when player opens - click to PAUSE)
c) Buttons to select Repeat entire playlist (player continues forever), Shuffle playlist (”on” when player opens;
click to view alphabetical playlist - click again to shuffle a new playlist) and a handy player Mute switch (toggles
player sound off / on without stopping the player)
d) Sliders are provided for Scrolling through current playing track or Scrolling through the entire playlist plus there
are “one track UP” and “one track DOWN” toggle buttons and the “one playlist page UP or DOWN” function can
be activated by clicking your mouse above or below the playlist scroll button in the scroll channel area
e) There’s a Volume control slider (set to 70% maximum volume when player opens - crank it up - use headphones)
f) Songs can be randomly selected anytime by clicking any name in the playlist
g) Windows display the Band Name and Song Title from the currently selected track in a scrolling text message,
plus a separate panel displays the EQ and the currently selected track’s progressing Time in minutes / seconds
h) Even the Song Loading is indicated with a display in the Track Scroller but unless you’re using a slow Internet
connection you may not notice this brief function - fast high bandwidth media server - no buffering - no glitches
If you’re not familiar with copying and pasting html code, but would still like to provide your visitors with access to
our unique progressive music broadcast, here’s a much simpler, alternative Longshot Radio option you can utilize.
1. Copy one of the .jpeg icons we’ve supplied (left click
mouse and “save picture as” to a folder on your computer)
2. Paste the image at a desired location on your page.
3. Set the icon to link to this URL address (copy text):
When the link is clicked, Longshot Radio opens complete
with a customized visualizations slide-show to compliment
the music broadcast (this links your visitors to the current
“separate window” presentation that we offer on our site).

IMPORTANT NOTICE TO EVERYONE EXCEPT THE I-FRAME CODE USERS: On Wednesday, Feb. 24, 2010
our switching to a HIGH BANDWIDTH server required some subtle changes to the Standard Embed Code Version
of the widget on WidgetBox and Widgipedia. We regret any inconvenience this may have caused but we’ve made
all the corrections on both sites and the new code is ready for copying to your blog or website. This regrettable
change was beyond our control and, as mentioned, DOES NOT EFFECT anyone using the I-Frame version of the
Longshot Radio widget code; that’s why we recommend this version. On the bright side, the new Longshot Radio
widget will now work flawlessly on all blogs and websites even if you don’t have high speed Internet service.
In the true spirit of everything rock and roll, our Longshot Radio widget is creating a controversy on Widgipedia. It appears
that a few live-to-design-widgets morons have taken offense to the popularity that the “prog rock widget” has gained and
consider us an invasion on their territory. Guess we better start creating a slew of childish, useless widgets designed to
appeal to the mentally deficient....on second thought, we’ll stick to what we’re obviously good at....in-your-face rock music!
